Computed Tomography Exam Secrets Study Guide

ARRT CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS FOR COMPUTED TOMOGRAPHY (CT)

According to the ARRT, in order to earn ARRT certification in Computed Tomography, you must already hold ARRT credentials in at least one of the following:

  • Radiography
  • Nuclear Medicine Technology
  • Radiation Therapy

If you hold ARRT Credentials in at least one of the approved supporting disciplines listed above, you are one step closer to earning your CT certification.

CT certification is often completed by using the post primary pathway route. This is the way I was able to earn my ARRT credentials in CT. The post primary route is not for everyone. It takes time, Self-Discipline, and being able to manage your time effectively in order to prepare for the CT Registry. Remember, there are structured education and clinical experience requirements that must be completed before siting for the CT Registry. More information on the required structured education and clinical experience requirements can be found on the ARRT website.

MY CT REGISTRY REVIEW

There are many books out there that can help prepare you for the CT registry. My CT Registry review consisted of the following books listed below. I have used all the materials listed below to review for my ct registry review and I highly recommend you use them as well.

The books that I actually used to prepare for the CT registry were the 1st Edition Registry Review in Computed Tomography, MIC Registry Review, and Computed Tomography 1st Edition. The Mosby’s Exam Review for Computed Tomography 2nd & 3rd Editions were not even published when I was preparing for the CT registry. All three books are pretty similar being that they have the same author. When it comes to ct registry questions, all three books have 600 plus questions that follow the same format as the questions on the ARRT CT exam. Each book also has three CT mock registry exams that will help prepare for the CT registry. Since Mosby’s Exam Review for Computed Tomography 2nd & 3rd Editions are newer books, they have newer features which include online learning utilizing the Evolve website. The Evolve website uses the questions from the book and allows them to be randomly reviewed to create unlimited test variations.

MIC CT REGISTRY REVIEW

The MIC Ct registry review did an excellent job covering all the arrt content specifications for computed tomography. This book is pricey, but it is well worth it. It currently cost about $299 and MIC offers a Money Back Guarantee. More information on the money back gurantee can be found at https://www.micinfo.com/

The CT Registry Review binder is made up of 8 comprehensive modules. Again, these modules do a fantastic job at covering the arrt content specifications for the ct registry. The information found in each module is easy to understand and has important imformation to remember listed on the sides of some pages. The great thing about completing this ct registry review program is that you also earn CEU’s as well.

E-Anatomy

When it comes to anatomy, in my opinion, E-Anatomy is hands down the best anatomy website around. I have used it over the years and it has been very helpful in identifying anatomy in all three modalities (Radiography, CT, and MRI). There is plenty of free content and there is premium content as well. The premium content can be purchased in a monthly and yearly subscription. If you would rather have the images and anatomy infront of you rather then online the The following book is very helpful as well (Sectional Anatomy for Imaging Professionals 3rd Edition).
